Stylish Corian Countertops Offer
130 Vibrant Kitchen Counter Colors!

Blend all of your best kitchen design ideas together with Corian countertops. These inventive tops have many desirable features that may work perfectly with your new kitchen design. Get creative and let your imagination go with all of the colors and textures that are available.

One important thing to note is the company that stands behind these kitchen counter tops, Dupont, who has been selling this material for more than forty years. Many of the other tops being offered today weren't around twenty years ago, much less forty.

Quality Top With Backing

Corian is a registered trademark so you know that when you choose Corian, you're getting a Dupont made product. There are several other look-alike products made by other manufacturers, but Corian is the leader in the industry.

That is why homeowners that are looking for a solid surface top often purchase Corian countertops. To find a contractor in your area that makes these beautiful tops, consider joining Angie's List. You will find that their list is a valuable resource for getting your project done by people and companies that are reviewed by other homeowners just like you. (see special discount code below)

Just keep in mind that while Corian makes for a gorgeous top, it is doesn't have the same density of either kitchen granite countertops or quartz countertops.

If your budget will allow, you may want to look at Dupont's Zodiaq countertops which is their version of a "man-made" quartz top. This product competes with other makers like the ever-popular Silestone countertops.

One of the selling points for Corian countertops, aside from its price point, is that they can be buffed and refinished if anything happens to damage them.

Also, they are nonporous so bacteria and germs cannot penetrate them and mold and mildew is not a problem either. And because they are nonporous, you will find them very hard to stain too.

There are no special cleaners used for Corian products. Cleaners with ammonia will work well as does plain soapy water.

Avoid harsh cleaners and remove any oven or drain cleaners right away if you spill them on Corian countertops. A regular schedule of cleaning with bleach and water, rinsing, and drying should keep your tops looking great for a long time. Try not to let water sit and dry on the countertop. This can dull the surface and make the surface appear blotchy.

130 Colors With Special Edges And Sinks

Another nice feature with Corian is the number of colors and patterns from which to choose. Not many other countertops offer more then 130 colors including satin, semi-gloss and high-gloss finishes. Also, because Corian is "man-made," it can be tailored to fit most any jobs and where there is a seam, it is hard to see it with a naked eye.

There are many edge profiles you can choose from as well as integrated backsplashes that can be made without a seam. You can ask for the any height backsplash that you want and it is fused to the top and shows not seam.

This is helpful if you want to have a tile backsplash and want full tiles without cut pieces. Figure out how much wall space the tiles will take up and let the Corian backsplash make up the difference.

With Corian tops, you can get a sink that is made as part of the top. They come in many shapes and sizes and the top and sink are fused together at the fabricating plant.

This means your kitchen counter tops will blend as a single unit if you choose the same color sink or you can select from a different colors if you like. The sinks look to be part of the top as they roll over from top into the sink at the edge.

Corian Countertops: Scratches And Heat

Although Corian will scratch, the colors go all the way through the top and can be easily buffed or lightly sanded by an installer if the damage is extreme.

Most homeowners can remove minor scratches themselves. Minor scratches or stains can be removed with certain cleaning pads and mild abrasive cleaners. Deeper scratches require the use of coarse and then fine sandpaper. Instruction will be available from the contractor you have selected on how to handle surface damage.

Corian is heat resistant, but you should never place hot pans right on the surface. The warranty does not cover damage from heat. Use trivets and heat pads under all items hot to the touch. And only use a knife with a cutting board.

Customer Satisfaction

Not many kitchen tops can boast a 96% customer satisfaction rating that has been bestowed upon Corian. Warranties that you can transfer are usually ten years for normal wear, and Dupont is not likely to go out of business suddenly and not back their product.

It is best to only have a qualified company install your Corian countertops and be certain that the 10-year warranty passes onto you from the installer.

Because they were the first solid surface maker, Corian has made improvements through the years and their product is better then when it first came out.

You can't beat the good looks of Corian, and prices are modest when compared to other tops.

The choices of colors are so much more advanced than those offered before. It would be a good idea to look at their most current color choices if this kind of top interests you. This is a great product that will serve you well for many years and is much easier on your budget then a natural stone or quartz countertops.

Finding the right Corian countertop maker in your area that you can count on may be difficult unless you get a referral from someone you trust. This however, is not always a good way to select the company for your project.

The best way is to read reviews by many homeowners like yourself that have used companies like you're looking for. If you'd like to find a reputable contractor in you area that makes quality tops, consider joining Angie's List. You will find a valuable resource that will help you with your project and could be one of the best investments that you'll make.
