I Would Upgrade Kitchen Counter Tops in The Future

by Georgio Johnson
(Burlington, VT, USA)

In terms of choosing kitchen countertop material, I would consider using kitchen granite countertops, stainless steel countertops or cement countertops. I like the aesthetic appeal of these surfaces and they seem to be in vogue these days.

Another interesting option might be to use stones or pebble tile as the surface for kitchen counter tops. I have heard of people using such pebble tile or stones for the surface of bathroom counter tops and I have wondered whether this could be done for a kitchen countertop. I think it would really add a unique and rustic feel to a kitchen.

When installing our kitchen counter tops, we used a surface called Formica. The Formica countertops resembles a granite material, but is actually a ground up composition material I think. On Premier Kitchen Design, it is explained as being a photographed layer.

We are happy with our Formica countertops. We have never used any substance to clean this material other than soap and water. Because of this, our Formica countertops has been very easy to maintain. I do not regret our decision to go with this type of kitchen countertop at this stage in my life.

Our kitchen countertop has been fairly durable. Though there are scratches and nicks on the Formica countertop, we have been satisfied with this choice.

For a future kitchen remodel, I would be willing to spend a little bit more money than we did for this project. I would definitely look into kitchen granite countertops or quartz countertops, even with the possible increase in price.

I feel that the appearance of the kitchen countertops does make a big difference in what I would pick for my next kitchen remodel. I feel that there are so many options in the kitchen countertop market these days, that I would need to do a great deal of research to ensure making the right choice.

I really feel that the kitchen is the most important room in a home. In addition, I believe that the decision of choosing kitchen counter tops is a very individualized one. Some people may be more apt to stay conservative on kitchen countertop choice, but I think that it doesn't hurt to check out all of your options when making countertop decisions.
