Just a Few More Inches Would Help My Kitchen Layout Design

I have a unique kitchen layout design in my newer home. My house was built in 2007, and is unique in the house layout alone. The kitchen layout is also unusual. There are things I like about my kitchen design, and there are things I dislike, which is mostly because of my height and not the kitchen layout itself.

The kitchen in my house is relatively large, in respects to other kitchen layout designs that I have seen. It is an L shaped kitchen which works well with my kitchen island. In the middle of my kitchen is a kitchen island with a marble kitchen countertop. It is oddly shaped - long length with a little "hook" at the end of it. I love it because there is plenty of room to prepare meals and to actually eat at the kitchen island.

There are a lot of cabinets and kitchen cabinet drawers throughout. This is both something I love, and something I hate about the kitchen. There are a few cabinets that are oddly shaped, since they are corner kitchen cabinets, so are triangle shaped, which makes them not very useful.

I love all the kitchen cabinet storage that I can use and reach though. As you enter my home and walk into my open kitchen design, you will see a black kitchen stove enclosed by cabinets and kitchen counter tops. There is a matching black microwave above the stove. Both of these are built in.

There is also a stainless steel counter depth refrigerators and a stainless sink. I don't like where the built in microwave is located, because it is hard to clean, and hard for me to reach as I'm short. The only other issue I have with kitchen cabinet storage is that, even though there is so much of it, there are cabinets above the refrigerator, so hardly anybody can reach them.

Overall though, I feel fortunate to have a spacious kitchen layout design and am very happy with it. If I could just be a few inches taller, there would be no problems with my kitchen design :)
