My Simple Choice For Stunning Kitchen Counter Tops

by Ardith
(Longmont, CO, USA)

I had considered kitchen granite countertops for my new kitchen design. I would prefer a granite countertop in my kitchen because of its elegance, but it is expensive and hard to care for.

I do not own a luxury home and I did not need something so chic, so I chose Formica countertops because it fit into my kitchen remodeling budget.

I even looked at wood kitchen counter tops but they too were expensive. If you get Formica countertops, you can choose from hundreds of colors and patterns. I chose one to go with my kitchen color schemes that looks like gray slate.

I installed the Formica countertops to compliment my black cabinets and the gray stone tile kitchen flooring. The Formica proved to be cheaper than granite (by far!), long lasting, and easy to install, and a breeze to clean!

As far as cleaning goes, soap and water are all it needs to make it look good, where a granite top needs special polish and granite sealers to keep them looking new.

Besides easy maintenance, this type of countertop does a pretty good job of withstanding the abuse that it gets from everyday living. Be careful when cutting on the surface, it may leave light scratch marks, but that is to be expected. If I drop a drinking glass on it, it is not likely to break as with other surfaces.

Nowadays, people prefer quartz countertops and kitchen granite countertops to the old fashioned Formica countertops because of its classy elegance.

Formica countertops seem a tad outdated, but to me this is a quick, easy fix to an old kitchen and not a lot of money. You can stay within your remodeling budget and get a great looking laminate kitchen counter top.

I found that Formica countertops fits into my budget, and it just seems to be a better choice for my way of living. No matter what you choose, any kitchen counter tops will add beauty, dramatic color, and depth to a new kitchen design or to an existing home.
